About Our Laboratory

Laboratory and Methods

Areas of research: Taxonomic research or cytogenetic research on pteridophytes and seed plants; species conservation research, e.g. re-evaluation of taxonomy for species where morphological variation occurrs as well as clarification of the differentiation process; distribution/ecology of endangered species (for each of the individual Ryukyu islands).

Specific Graduation Research Project Themes

Areas of research:
1) Taxonomic research on species native to the Ryukyu Archipelago including Orchidaceae, Urticaceae, Violaceae, Theaceae, Aquifoliaceae, Rubiaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Acanthaceae, Compositae, and Cyperaceae,
2) Cytogenic research on orchidaceous plants of tropical Asia
